Master’s Program in Waldorf Education
Our Aims
To facilitate the self-renewal of Waldorf teachers
To foster reflections on, and innovations of, Waldorf pedagogy
To cultivate the development of Waldorf research community
To enhance dialogue between the Waldorf community and the mainstream society
Master’s Program Established for Waldorf Educators
The establishment of our Master’s Program is intended to meet the needs of contemporary Waldorf teachers for professional and personal growth on the one hand, and to respond to the urgent call of our time for self-awareness and actions for sustainable development on the other hand. Our students will be engaged in research projects independently or collaboratively in order to study the nature of human beings, to deepen the art of teaching, to reflect upon practical experiences, and to meet the challenges of our times. We provide an academic platform where teachers can develop through cooperative learning, dialogues and reflections, along with individual research inquiries.
Collaboration between Taiwanese and German Institutions
The body of faculty consists of outstanding professors from National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan and the Freie Hochshule Stuttgart.
International and Bilingual Learning Environment
All courses will be taught in English (with Chinese oral translation when necessary) or in Chinese. The diversity of the composition of the student body will constitute a rich and heterogeneous cultural environment for all to learn from one another. It is particularly beneficial for those who are interested in the Chinese/Taiwanese language and culture to come to study in such a culturally nourishing environment. The program will enroll students every other year.
Teacher-friendly Schedule for Part-time Graduate Study
Students of this three-year Master’s Program meet on campus during certain weekends and in the summer time for three weeks in July or August and in the winter time for one week during a period in January or February, accompanied by homework assignments, projects and conferences.
